A woman's hope and desire to help others, lives on through an annual event
in her honor.
This is the 6th
annual Traci's hope fundraiser which was held today at HickoriesPark
in Owego.
It's in memory of Traci Gibson who was fighting Breast Cancer for 7 years.
She lost her battle with the disease in 2006.
But prior to her passing, Traci formed the non-profit group Traci's Hope,
which is dedicated to helping those who are diagnosed with Cancer.
"It was our way of giving back to the community because they did so
much for us, to help us through the Breast Cancer. It's taken off way more than
I could have imagined," said Brian Gibson, Traci's husband.
All money raised helps local families that are dealing with cancer pay for
bills that insurance doesn't cover...like gas, daycare or rent.
