The community comes together in memory of a friend.
It was the fifth annual Traci's Hope fundraiser.
It's in honor of Traci Gibson who died of breast cancer in 2006.
Thousands showed up in support at Hickories Park in Owego.
There were raffles and Traci's Hope merchandise on sale.
Traci's father, Gordon Shiner, says they expect to raise 30 to 50,000 dollars.
"We are so happy to see our community pour out their hearts to us and wish Traci was here to see this" "And us, who knew her, can feel her when we come into the park. She's here," said Gordon Shiner, Traci's father.
"I guarantee this sunshine right here is coming from her today. She's smiling down on us." "This was Traci's idea to start Traci's Hope and to give back to people who are going through every day struggles with it," said Brian Gibson, Traci's husband.
All money raised helps local families that are dealing with cancer pay for bills that insurance doesn't cover.
Such as rent, heat, electricity, day care and gas.
