APALACHIN, N.Y. -- More than 80 golfers teed off for the fourth annual Traci's Hope Golf Tournament. The organization is named after Traci Gibson of Apalachin, who passed away from breast cancer.
The group has been helping out women in Broome and Tioga counties who are battling the disease. Just this year alone, they're assisting 21 women with everything from medical bills to prescriptions and gas cards.
The group members say by helping others they're keeping Traci's memory alive.
"It's amazing to see the people turn out and just to remember Traci and her big smile, it just brings people together and you meet more and more friends. Just get to know a really good bunch of people that just want to remember Traci how she wanted us to," said Nancy McQueeney.
In October, Traci's Hope will hold a large barbecue fundraiser. |
